Best Protein Powder for Weight Loss
Hey there, are you looking for the best protein powder for weight loss so here is the right place you've comed across.
When you’re just getting started with taking whey protein, you want to try and keep it simple, while also being well-informed.
Some things to keep in mind when you’re looking for a solid protein powder are that it is:
- Free of artificial sweeteners and additives
- Free of any “blends.” For example, many protein powders claim to have a “blend” of whey protein isolate and whey concentrate. The problem is, you don’t actually know how much of each type of whey you’re getting.
- You want it to be either Whey Isolate or Whey Hydrolysate. Why? Because they are the 2 high quality types of whey protein. Concentrate is straight up garbage, and manufactured very, very cheaply.
- Note: Whey hydrolysate is rather expensive, and a lot of time whey isolate is just fine in terms of quality, while typically being less expensive than whey hydrolysate, thus finding a nice middle ground between quality and price
- Straight up about everything. This goes back to the point about “protein blends.” If there is anything unclear about the ingredients in the protein powder, you probably want to stay away from it.
There are plenty of protein
powders out there to lose weight , but I recently came across an in-depth review of a
high-rated, clean protein powder that help you to lose weight fast called “MusclePharm protein powder”.

What type of protein powder is best for weight loss?
I would vote for the whey protein, as
best powder of protein source, and the statement is after the
verification of thousands of users. Although initially it was considered
for the body builders, now it is the mainstream in the fitness and
health circles.
Whey protein can help in the muscle mass building and is also effective for those who want slimmer and toned hips and thighs.
It
is perhaps among the most effective weight loss strategy as it has the
high thermogenic values, that is after eating it you will burn most of
the taken calories.
It does so by keeping the metabolism boosted and will keep on the caloric burning process on the go at the peak.
The additional benefit of whey protein is the muscle building process,
called as protein synthesis, in which whey protein plays a major and
vital role. The more muscle mass you have, the lesser will be the fat
contents as it burns calories even when you are in resting condition.
Whey is available in drug stores and in form of supplements and also available as the smoothie in departmental stores.
Whey protein preparations have very less quantity of lactose, that make it more suitable for the lactose innocent individuals as well.

To maximize lean muscle growth and recovery, MusclePharm created Combat Sport Protein Powder with a variety of protein blends that digest at varying rates—helping to fuel your muscles longer. This award-winning, university studied formula helps create a muscle-building environment for longer periods of time, which results in greater muscle building, recovery and performance.WHEY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE – One of the world's most popular and researched sports nutrition ingredients, whey protein concentrate is closest to whole food and contains real subfractions.
WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE – Digests and absorbs rapidly and is low in carbohydrates and fat. Whey protein isolate undergoes a process called cross-flow micro-filtration that separates the protein from fat, cholesterol and lactose.
WHEY PROTEIN HYDROLYSATE – Broken down into faster-absorbing peptides, this rapidly infuses muscle-building amino acids making for even faster absorption than standard whey and isolate.
MICELLAR CASEIN – Often consumed on its own as a nighttime protein, micellar casein digests slowly, infusing valuable amino acids over several hours.
EGG ALBUMIN – Highly bioavailable and is high in naturally-occurring BCAAs and arginine.
BCAAs – Branched-Chain Amino Acids are the essential amino acids leucine, isoleucine and valine. Includes added BCAAs to support recovery, muscle development, and maintenance.
GLUTAMINE – An amino acid necessary for protein and muscle synthesis. Includes added Glutamine to help build, repair, and protect muscles.
DIGESTIVE ENZYMES – Includes protease and lactase to help with the digestion of your protein.
SUGGESTED USE: Mix 1 scoop of COMBAT PROTEIN POWDER with 8–12 ¬fl. oz. of cold water. Vary the amount of water to achieve desired consistency and taste. To increase your protein intake per serving and achieve a delicious milkshake taste, use milk instead of water. Consume additional servings throughout the day to meet your daily protein requirements. Use in combination with whole food protein sources, a balanced diet, and exercise program.
As a GymLeader Combat Powder is my favorite one. That is saying a lot because Muscle Pharm has a ton of products, and a lot of them are really good. As an athlete and an expert in sports nutrition, I am naturally most attracted to this product.
Company Profile
Muscle Pharm, like I said before, has a large, varied
product line. Many of their products are extremely popular in the
industry. Combat Powder in particular is the most popular as of late. Read this Combat Powder review to
get a feel for the quality and effectiveness of this powder and for an
overview of the best powders on the market, don’t forget to check out
our Top 10 Best Protein Supplements list.
Combat Powder Ingredients
Combat Powder has the standard 24 grams
of protein per serving. You should make sure to keep an eye out when
buying a protein powder to make sure it doesn’t have under 20 grams of
protein per serving. This shouldn’t be a problem, as the majority of
protein powders out there contain about 24-25.
You should be more concerned with looking at what types of
protein go into the product (the protein blend). You want to look for
whey protein isolate and whey protein hydrolysate, as these are the
purest, most effective forms of protein.
The protein blend in Combat Powder is
decent, consisting of whey protein isolate, whey protein hydrolysate,
and whey protein concentrate. Whey protein concentrate should ideally
not be included in the protein blend, but this blend is still one of the
best out there. You rarely see a product that contains both whey
protein isolate and whey protein hydrolysate.
The absolute best whey protein you can take in terms of
purity and effectiveness is whey protein hydrolysate. The only powder
we’ve seen that contains 100% hydrolysate is Hydro Whey 100.
Another important thing to keep an eye out for when
considering buying a protein powder is whether it contains branched
chain amino acids or not, and how much of them it contains. Combat Powder
contains several, including all of the most important ones when it
comes to muscle recovery and growth- glutamine, leucine, valine,
isoleucine.
In addition, this protein powder only has 130 calories per
serving which is very low. It also only contains 1.5 grams of fat, 5
grams of carbs, and 2 grams of sugar, so your muscle gain is going to be
very lean.
Something unique about this product is its digestive
enzyme blend, which consists of protease and lactase, which can
allow for rapid and painless digestion.
Combat Powder does contain 75 milligrams
of cholesterol in every serving, which is a little high but nothing to
be too concerned about. The sodium count is also rather high at 150
milligrams per serving, but this again is nothing to be extremely
concerned about if what you are looking to do is pack on muscle.
Always remember that the one thing that never lies when it
comes to protein powders or any nutritional supplements is the
nutrition label. You can always trust the label, so check it out for
yourself and look things over.
Effectiveness
If you are looking to gain muscle, this is a protein
powder that I would recommend. Certain things about it our not the most
nutritious, but it can be effective in muscle gain considering the types
of protein and abundance of amino acids.
The BCAAs I mentioned above are all great for muscle
recovery and growth. Glutamine primarily is one of the most important
ingredients to look for when searching for an effective protein powder
that can allow your muscles to fully recover and grow. I have personally
used this product and have read several other reviews on it, most of
which were positive. Combat Powder is particularly effective for athletes.
Taste
My personal opinion is that this product tastes
phenomenal. This is nothing to be surprised about considering the
reputation of Muscle Pharm. They are always creating great tasting
products. One fact you can go off of to be able to tell whether it
tastes good or not is the fact that it contains 150 milligrams of sodium
in every serving. Sodium is key when it comes to taste. 150 milligrams
is pretty high, but if you don’t mind a slightly high sodium count, this
product is great.
The Pros
-
BCAAs
-
Quality protein
-
Low calories
-
Low carbs
-
Low sugar
-
Low fat
-
Tastes good
The Cons
-
High sodium
-
High cholesterol
Summary
Combat Powder is another great product
from Muscle Pharm. It is nearly perfect for athletes, and can cause
muscle gain when paired with the right diet. It may not be the absolute
healthiest in every way possible, but overall it’s a good buy and a very
effective product. I speak to its effectiveness based off of personal
experience, the reviews of others, and the facts that are right there on
the nutrition label (whey protein isolates, whey protein hydrolysates,
and BCAAs).
With that said, we highly recommend you take a look at our #1 ranked protein powder before deciding to go with Combat Powder. It’s the only 100% hydrolysate formula we’ve seen.
